Equine groom (level 2)
Aston Mullins Stud are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company who will give the successful candidate the support and platform to develop their skills and launch a career in the equine sector.
The work
This is a great opportunity for Equine Apprentice to get stuck in with the daily running of the stud, including, but not limited to:
- Mucking out
- Turning out/bringing in
- Tacking up and tack cleaning
- Feeding and filling hay nets
- Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
- Bathing and rug changing
- First aid
- Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
- Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
Training
- Equine Groom Level 2
- All training will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be carried out by Haddon Training

Things to consider
Previous experience working with horses is essential. Candidates must be 18 or over (due to insurance purposes), and ideally have their own car as location is very rural, hardworking and keen to succeed in the equine industry. A good sense of humour is a must! Accommodation is available if required.

Aston Mullins Stud is owned by Simon and Mags Hope whose life-long passion for racing and bloodstock led to them acquiring the present 300-350 acre farm in the heart of the Vale of Aylesbury in 2000.
