Marina and boatyard operative (level 2)
Train to be a boatyard operative alongside experienced professionals. You will learn to maintain and prepare boats for launch, together with machinery maintenance and safe systems of work.
Training in forklift and slinger/banksman will be provided, together with any other certification needed to complete the apprenticeship course.
The work
- Pressure washing
- Maintenance of boats and machinery
- Assist in slipping/launching of boats when suitably qualified
- Keeping yard and premises tidy
- Assist afloat with boat checks
- Anything else that is needed to complete the apprenticeship
Training
- Training is one day a week at South Devon College
