This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career within the live events industry. As a Live Event Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals supporting the preparation, installation, operation and maintenance of technical equipment used for live events.
You’ll gain hands-on experience working on brand launches, national conferences, sales events, and large-scale international forums while studying towards the Level 3 Creative Industries Production Technician (Live Event Technician Pathway) qualification.
No two days are the same, and you’ll develop skills across lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging and event production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain and organise technical equipment before events
- Load, unload and transport equipment safely
- Assist with the installation of lighting, sound and AV systems
- Help rig staging, truss and associated equipment under supervision
- Support the operation of technical equipment during live events
- Carry out equipment testing and fault finding
- Maintain equipment to ensure it remains safe and operational
- Follow technical drawings, plans and specifications
- Work safely at all times following company procedures and industry legislation
- Complete equipment checks before and after events
- Support warehouse operations including stock control and equipment preparation
- Assist with cable management and network infrastructure
- Learn how to programme and operate lighting and audio systems
- Support the team during de-rigs and equipment returns
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and venue staff
- Work professionally as part of a busy production team
