Construction support technician (level 3)
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in architecture, construction and building design while gaining practical experience alongside a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will gradually develop the skills required to produce professional architectural drawings and technical information.
The work
- Assist with the preparation of architectural drawings using CAD software.
- Produce and update existing, proposed, planning and Building Regulations drawings.
- Assist with measured building surveys and site visits.
- Take site measurements, photographs and notes.
- Help prepare plans, elevations, sections and construction details.
- Learn how buildings are constructed and how different materials and systems are specified.
- Work with architectural and structural engineering team members to coordinate designs.
- Make drawing amendments following internal reviews and client comments.
- Maintain accurate project files and drawing records.
- Develop an understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction standards.
