Health and Social Care - Support Worker Apprenticeship - Maidstone

At this service you will be supporting adults with complex needs. You will support with all aspects of their daily lives, from community based activities, cooking, cleaning, in house activities, shopping and personal care. The aim is to assist them to maintain their existing skills and develop new ones as well as maintain their health and achieve ambitions as set out in their support guidelines.

Your role will involve helping with everyday tasks such as personal care, dressing, cooking, and keeping homes clean and tidy. You will also drive to activities, which includes horse riding, the gym, swimming, Cinema, reflexology, shopping, night clubs, and visits to an activity farm. You will assist with medication and keep accurate records, and full training will be provided. Good communication skills are important because you will work to a person-centred support plan and liaise with professionals, family members, and your team.

Although this is a lone-working role, you will have the support of an experienced team and parents, who play an active role in their lives and will help train and guide you.
