Business Administration Apprentice
FUSE HEALTH LTD · Derby, DE22 3WZ
Business administrator (level 3)
Are you ready to start a career in healthcare administration, or looking to change direction and learn something new? Do you enjoy keeping things organised, helping people, and being the person others rely on to keep things running smoothly?
The work
Support the day-to-day administration and smooth operation of the organisation, maintaining accurate records, filing systems and databases.
Order office supplies, monitor stock levels, raise purchase orders and liaise with approved suppliers. Maintain inventory records, complete stock checks and resolve discrepancies.
Provide administrative cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
Support leadership team diary management and meeting arrangements, including preparing agendas, circulating papers, taking minutes, tracking actions and coordinating larger meetings or away days.
Coordinate training sessions, workshops and CPD activities, including bookings, venues, equipment, trainers and maintaining training and compliance records.
Support new starter onboarding by arranging IT access, equipment, inductions and documentation, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and on time.
Assist with supplier invoice processing, checking against purchase orders and budget codes, maintaining records and resolving payment queries with suppliers and budget holders.
Undertake occasional administrative errands between Fuse Health sites, including collecting or transferring equipment, stock and documentation using own transport.
Monitor the shared service support mailbox, respond to routine enquiries, escalate complex queries and track responses to ensure agreed service levels are met.
Support non-clinical compliance administration, including mandatory training, DBS checks, subscription renewals, policy sign-offs and document control. Assist with evidence collation for audits, accreditation and CQC-related requirements.
As skills develop and with appropriate supervision, attend meetings as an independent note-taker, prepare accurate minutes and draft correspondence for review and approval by the relevant lead.
Identify opportunities to use technology and approved AI tools (currently Claude) to improve administrative efficiency, following initial induction, information governance training and all relevant Fuse Health policies.
Maintain accurate records and handle all business, staff and patient-related information confidentially and in accordance with GDPR and information governance requirements. This is a non-clinical role with no clinical decision-making responsibilities, although access to patient-identifiable information may be required when providing administrative or complaint-handling support.
