Property maintenance operative (level 2)
Unique Bathroom Design is looking for an apprentice to join the team and learn the practical skills involved in professional bathroom installation and domestic plumbing. The apprentice will gain
hands-on experience on real bathroom projects while completing their training with Barking & Dagenham College.
The work
- Assist experienced installers with complete domestic bathroom installations
- Assist with bathroom removals, preparation and setting up work areas
- Help install baths, showers, toilets, basins, taps, bathroom furniture and associated fittings
- Assist with domestic plumbing and basic plumbing alterations under supervision
- Learn safe and correct use of hand tools, power tools, materials and equipment
- Help prepare walls, floors and surrounding areas ready for installation
- Assist with basic repairs, fault finding and remedial work under supervision
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe, and protect customers' homes while work is taking place
- Communicate politely and professionally with customers, colleagues and other trades
- Follow company procedures, safe working practices and all relevant health and safety requirements
- Complete any job records or apprenticeship evidence required as part of the role and training programme
Training
The apprentice will attend Barking & Dagenham College, Rush Green Campus, 1 day a week.
