Adult care worker (level 2)
The carer plays a vital role in delivering person-centred care, ensuring that service users' needs, preferences, and wellbeing are at the heart of all support provided. This role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence, and maintaining their comfort and dignity.
The work
The carer's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure that service users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their well-being
- To contribute to the efficient running of the service
- Support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community
- Ensure care plans and other information about how to support service users are followed
- Be responsible for informing the Registered Manager of any changes in the needs of service users
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
- Serves meals to service users at table or in bed, and assists with feeding if required
- Assists with service users' overall comfort and wellbeing
- Provides interest and activities to stimulate and engage the service user
- Helps with daily activities such as letter writing, paying bills, collecting benefits
- Undertakes light cleaning and domestic duties including meal preparation as required
- Monitors service users' conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and contributes to record keeping
- Liaises with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.
Working Hours: up to 35 hours per week.
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour.
What your apprenticeship includes:
- You won't need to attend college, our apprenticeships are delivered through work based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you
- Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions.
At Sylvian Care you will be working towards a Adult Care Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship standard over the course of 15 months.
Training
Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship L2, including Functional Skills in maths and English.
